Our company with many years of experience invites you to courses for future telescopic handler operators. Our training, as well as the subsequent examination, is divided into theory and practice, during which you will learn the necessary knowledge needed to work with these machines, and also learn how to operate them during exercises on the manoeuvring area.

Licenses for operators of telescopic loaders

Telescopic loaders are specialized forklifts, so special qualifications will also be required to operate them. The entire vesting process is divided into several stages:

Course

The first step to becoming certified is to enrol in a course on telehandlers. Through the classes, the participant will gain theoretical knowledge, but most importantly, he or she will acquire practical skills for operating the equipment.

Examination

After the course, your next step on the road to certification will be the state examination conducted by the Office of Technical Inspection (UDT). If you pass, you will be issued with a certificate and will be authorised to work as a telehandler operator.

Entitlements

The authorisations for telehandlers are valid for 5 years in Poland and in the countries of the European Union. If you are a foreigner, it is possible to issue documents in other languages.

Requirements for trainees

In order to be qualified as a telehandler operator, there are three basic requirements:

Be at least 18 years of age. Have a minimum of primary education.Have no health contraindications to be an equipment operator.

Course programme

Topics such as:

  • types of equipment and their construction,
  • technical supervision,
  • the activities of the machine operator before, during and after the task,
  • fundamentals of cargo science,
  • additional equipment accessories,
  • construction and operation of gas cylinders,
  • Health and safety at work,
  • practical activities.

It is worth noting that a major advantage of the training is, above all, the acquisition of practical skills. The instructors pay particular attention to practical classes, thanks to which each participant is able to learn the specifics of working with this type of equipment.

Examination

The exam consists of two parts:

  •  Theoretical part - is conducted in the form of a written test,
  •  practical part - in turn, this stage of the exam is to test the skills in operating the device. Hence, it is so important to participate in the course, which gives you the opportunity to learn about the specifics of working on telescopic loaders.

Telescopic handlers - basic information

Telescopic handlers are lift trucks with variable reach classified as specialised forklifts.

The growing popularity of telehandlers is due to the fact that they are versatile machines. The parameters of these machines are characterised by high performance. Depending on the model, the values of these parameters can vary. Generally speaking, however, the lifting capacity of telehandlers can reach up to 22 tonnes and the maximum lifting height is usually around 30 m. Of further important information regarding telehandlers, it is worth noting that one main division of these machines is currently mentioned:

ROTARY LOADERS FRONT LOADERS
equipped with an additional swivel head, which allows the operator's cabin to be rotated 360 degrees, they are characterized by a large maximum lifting height. with the boom mounted on the right-hand side of the machine and a stationary operator's cab, are characterised by their high lifting capacity.

Due to the multitasking nature of telehandlers, they can be divided in a different way:

Classification by design: running gears: rigid-frame wheeled (with stabilisers); articulated wheeled, bodies: non-rotating; rotating. This parameter means that the body has the possibility of partial or full rotation relative to the chassis or not).
Division according to the type of drive of the driving unit: with hydrostatic-mechanical drive of the driving unit, with hydrokinetic-mechanical drive of the driving unit.
Division according to the ways of changing the direction of travel: steering with all four wheels, steering with the front wheels only, steering with the so-called "crab movement" (allows the machine to be driven diagonally).

Telescopic loader applications

Due to their large dimensions and multi-tasking, this type of carts are most often used in:

  • construction,
  • agriculture,
  • industry,
  • horticulture,
  • in municipal works.

The machines are also suitable for demanding tasks involving the transport of, for example, earth and all kinds of loose materials, steel structures, concrete elements, wood and stones. They are often found on production halls and in large shops, where they are used for traditional unloading and loading of pallets. In addition, these machines have the ability to attach various types of attachments quickly and efficiently. Thanks to this feature, telehandlers can easily gain new applications and perform many additional functions. Among the attachments adapted to the loaders, the most popular are:

  • working platforms,
  • pallet forks,
  • loader buckets,
  • bale grippers,
  • lawn mowers,
  • sweepers,
  • cultivation units,
  • seed drills and other implements for agricultural tasks.

Their multifunctionality and numerous attachments mean that a single vehicle has the potential to be both a pallet transporter, a bulk carrier, a hay bale, a jack to help workers perform tasks at great heights and even a mower in the summer. The numerous advantages of telehandlers contribute to their popularity.

How to choose a telehandler?

There are many aspects to consider when making an investment such as buying or hiring a loader. In addition to determining the tasks the device will be used for, it is also worth focusing on:

  • brand of telehandler,
  • seller's warranty,
  • the mileage of the loader - in the case of renting or purchasing a used machine,
  • the general condition of the loader,
  • important UDT tests.
