We would like to invite you to take part in a car diagnostic course in our ERGON Centre of Staff Development. For the position of car diagnostician the course consists of two parts - basic and specialist training.

Automotive diagnostician: basic course - this is a course covering technical vehicle inspections in general. The specialised training covers issues such as technical inspections of ADR vehicles - for the carriage of dangerous goods, technical inspections of buses and vehicles with a maximum speed of 100 km/h on expressways and motorways, technical inspections of gas-powered vehicles, as well as technical inspections of those vehicles which are registered for the first time abroad, referred for inspection by a starost or a road traffic control authority, SAM vehicles and vehicles which have undergone structural changes.

Automotive diagnostician - Requirements

To enrol on the training course, an automotive diagnostician must meet one of the following four requirements:

  • a higher technical education qualification in a motor vehicle specialisation and 2 years' documented experience in a vehicle repair or service station in a vehicle repair or service position
  • a secondary technical education in a motor vehicle specialisation and 4 years' documented experience in a vehicle repair or service station in a vehicle repair or service position
  • a higher technical education degree in a field other than motor vehicles. specialization and documented 4 years of practice in a vehicle repair workshop or in a vehicle service station in a vehicle repair or maintenance position.
  • Secondary technical education in a field other than motor vehicles. specialization and documented 8 years of practice in a vehicle repair shop or in a vehicle service station in a vehicle repair or servicing position.

Examination

Passing the examination is a prerequisite for obtaining the licence. The vehicle diagnostician must complete all parts of the course in order to sit the examination. The examination is a state examination and takes place before the Transport Technical Inspectorate.

Entitlements

As a car diagnostician, the requirements mainly include obtaining the necessary qualifications as well as practical and educational experience.
