Mast platforms - devices equipped with a mast enabling the work platform to be moved verticallyCourse on mobile platforms The training is intended for people who want to obtain authorisations to operate these machines. The training ends with an exam in front of a commission from the UDT (Office of Technical Inspection), and the theoretical and practical classes are aimed at preparing participants for this exam in the best possible way. We organise courses in Warsaw and in other cities, where there are branches of the Centre. In these locations we have our own equipment for practical classes. On request, we also organize courses of mobile platforms operators for companies.

Mobile mast platform: construction, application

Mast platforms are one of the types of handling equipment which, in accordance with UDT regulations, are subject to technical supervision. The categorisation in force until 1.06.2020 classified them as category II P equipment. Currently, the following classification is in force, taking into account mobile mast platforms:

  • Stationary mobile lifting platforms
  • Mobile lifting platforms
  • Platforms on railway vehicles
  • Suspended access platforms - authorisation to operate suspended and stationary platforms
  • Mast climbing platforms - This qualification entitles the holder to operate mast climbing platforms and fixed platforms

A characteristic feature of mast platforms is a platform mounted on a mast attached to the chassis. Thanks to this solution, it is possible to move the platform vertically in a safe and stable way. These devices are also light and easy to transport. They can be used both indoors and outdoors, therefore, they can be applied in cleaning works, repair works, installation works, painting of building facades and many others.

Stationary aerial work platform operator course: information

Scope of the course

The course takes place partly in the form of lectures and partly in the form of practical exercises on a manoeuvring area. The number of hours varies from group to group. We organise training from the ground up, lasting around 35 hours, as well as supplementary training for those who have already worked with the equipment of a given type.

The syllabus is compliant with UDT examination requirements. Theoretical training covers such issues as the construction of particular elements of platforms, technical supervision regulations, tests and examinations. In the practical part, participants have the opportunity to practice preparing equipment for work, operating it while performing tasks, and handling failures.

Who can take part in the training

Persons of varying degrees of proficiency in the operation of platforms are invited to attend training courses. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements, i.e.:

If you would like more information on training for mobile platforms (price, registration, course, etc.), you can contact the Centre's staff or see information on the page with frequently asked questions. You can also find information on other courses organised by the Centre (courses on high-altitude platforms, self-propelled mobile platforms, free-moving mobile platforms and others).

UDT exam - licence after the course

After passing the internal exam, students may take an external exam before a commission from the UDT (Warsaw or another branch, depending on the training location). The exam is conducted in the form of a test, and then the ability to operate the equipment in practice is tested. A positive result means the granting of authorisations (qualification certificate), which are necessary when applying for a job as an operator. Qualification UDT for mast platforms are issued for 10 years.
