ERGON training centre offers a course for mast lift operators. We have qualified staff and all the teaching resources to prepare you for the UDT exam. We have developed a training programme in line with the requirements of the Office of Technical Inspection. The training is divided into theoretical and practical parts, where trainees will gain the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to successfully pass the state exam before a commission appointed by the UDT.

Course flow

The mast lift licence course we have developed runs as follows:

  1. The training starts with a theoretical part in which trainees are introduced to:
    • safety regulations,
    • construction and design of the mast lift,
    • operator responsibilities,
    • operation of the equipment,
    • efficient and safe operating techniques,
    • maintenance of the required technical files.
  2. The practical part is then carried out on the manoeuvring area, where the trainees learn to operate the machine and carry out tasks assigned by qualified instructors.

The lecture part can be conducted online.

The state examination at the UDT consists of a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part, trainees are required to take a written knowledge test. This verifies knowledge of, among other things, health and safety rules, machine construction and maintenance of the machine's technical documentation. Once the first part of the course has been completed successfully, the trainees can then move on to the practical part, in which they demonstrate their driving skills and carry out the tasks set out by the state examination board - on the manoeuvring area.

UDT authorisation for mast lifts

Students successfully completing the examination can apply to the Office of Technical Inspection for a mast lift operator's certificate. The UDT certificate is valid for 10 years from the date of issue. The licence is recognised in the countries of the European Union.
