About us

The ERGON Personnel Development Centre specialises in providing courses in the operation and maintenance of handling equipment. We have a team of experienced specialists who emphasise the safety of work. We have been on the market for many years and have thousands of satisfied customers all over Poland.

Curriculum - what will you get out of the training?

Our courses will provide you with the information you need for your profession, your first apprenticeship and a breakdown of your future responsibilities. You will become acquainted with the regulations in force, knowledge of crane construction and its technical characteristics. You will acquire skills for the safe control of the machine. You learn about the crane's mechanisms and safety devices, and the specifics of the crane operator's job, e.g. assessing the crane's technical condition before and after work.

Course topics

Topics discussed during the theoretical classes include:

  • crane construction;
  • rights and obligations of operators and maintainers;
  • basic technical parameters;
  • technical documentation of the equipment;
  • safe operation;
  • basic division of cranes;
  • signalling, control and safety equipment;
  • work attachments and slings;
  • Occupational Health and Safety, or Health and Safety at Work;
  • DOR, or Permissible Operating Load - the load capacity of the sling.

Theoretical lectures can be taken online.

Why take the course?

During the training course, you will learn many things that are useful for your future work. You will learn about the techniques for operating stationary cranes, current health and safety regulations and, above all, you will receive a certificate, entitling you to operate a stationary crane (i.e. wall and pillar cranes, i.e. workshop cranes). The certificate is issued by the UDT and qualifies the participant to work in the profession.

Work carried out without the relevant qualification certificate is unlawful.

General information - what is a stationary crane?

stationary wall-mounted crane in operation

A stationary crane, commonly known as a workshop crane, is a lightweight crane. It consists of a pole permanently fixed to the ground. On this is mounted a swivel jib, which in turn carries a linkage that moves (a winch or hoist) and lifts the load. The jib can also be fixed to a wall or machine (in which case it is a wall-mounted crane).

Stationary cranes belong to the UTBs, i.e. the Equipment for Near-Board Transport. These machines can only be operated by suitably qualified people. One must be trained, practised in handling and safety and with adequate theoretical knowledge. It is also necessary to pass an examination, which is carried out at the end of the course, by the field branch of the UDT and have proof of this in the form of a certificate.

What is an UDT?

UDT stands for Office of Technical Inspection. It is a state institution whose purpose is to supervise, and keep in working order, equipment subject to supervision. It also controls the operability of these machines and technical installations.
