Entitlements issued by the Transport Technical Supervision 

Transport Technical Supervision - is the institution that carries out the supervision of the facilities: 

  • in the process lines of the port transhipment bases and which are equipped with other stations situated in the area intended for transhipment work and other activities forming part of the maritime navigation service; 
  • on seagoing vessels, with the exception of vessels under the technical supervision of a classification society, pontoons, docks and on the premises of maritime ports and harbours, equipment directly connected with maritime navigation, in particular pressure equipment, non-pressure equipment, tanks (cisterns) and cranes; 
  • installed on railway tracks (for railway vehicles and sidings); 
  • freight and passenger cableways and ski lifts; 
  • tanks (including tanks used in rail, road and inland waterway traffic). 
Practical handling of filling machines

What TDT courses do we offer at ERGON? 

  1. Operating a tank filling station:  
  • motor vehicles with gas (LPG); 
  • pressurised with compressed and liquefied gas; 
  1. Operator or maintainer: 
  • platforms; 
  • railway vehicle cranes; 
  • lift trucks; 
  • cranes. 
  1. Container handling equipment - position: maintenance technician (UDT or TDT examination) 
  2. Track laying machines - position: maintenance TDT. 
  3. Loading, unloading or load feeding equipment.

  • Suspended belt conveyors; 
  • Skip lifts; 
  • Pneumatic conveying equipment for bulk materials; 
  • Heap loaders and feeders;  
  • Ship and wagon unloaders;

  1. Winches and hoists general and special purpose - UDT or TDT conservator. 
  1. Mechanical lift trucks - UDT or TDT maintainer. 
  1. Freight lifts - UDT or TDT conservator. 
  1. Ship lifts - UDT or TDT maintainer. 
  1. Mobile cranes and mobile cranes, so-called HDS and mobile cranes, stationary cranes - maintainer UDT or TDT. 

Authorises the maintenance of stationary cranes and general-purpose hoists and winches. 

  1. Railway cranes and on railway vehicles - TDT conservator. 
  1. Other cranes - TDT conservator of cranes of other types to select categories:  
Technical inspection carried out
  • on-board, 
  • floating, 
  • shipbuilding and port industries, 

Training plan topics: 

Refuelling of buses with CNG and LNG: 

  • Basic knowledge of technical supervision; 
  • Health, safety and fire safety requirements; 
  • Gases used to power engines; 
  • Physical and chemical properties: liquefied natural gas( LNG), compressed natural gas (CNG); 
  • Performance of a natural gas-fuelled engine. Adaptation of engines to run on CNG; 
  • Station operating regulations; 
  • CNG and LNG filling stations for vehicles. Fixed and mobile stations - what do they consist of? How is gas delivered to the station ? 
  • Criteria for safe station operation. Hazards encountered when working at the station; 
  • Emergency situations at the station. What should be done?

Filling pressure vessels: 

  • Organisational and programme issues; 
  • Basic BH* issues; 
  • General knowledge of the physical and chemical properties of gases; 
  • Details of gases used in firefighting systems and hand-held equipment; 
  • Construction of pressure vessels used in firefighting; 
  • Marking of fixed and portable tanks; 
  • Accessories working with pressure vessels; 
  • Filling techniques for portable pressure vessels - discussion of filling principles. Individual consultations; 
  • Performing technical supervision of portable tanks - technical supervision institutions and regulations. 

LPG filling of cars: 

  • Health, safety and fire safety regulations; 
  • Basic knowledge of technical supervision; 
  • Chemical and physical properties of gases; 
  • Gases used for vehicle propulsion; 
  • Tank construction; 
  • Accessories that work with tanks; 
  • Tank labelling; 
  • Additional conditions for gas-powered vehicles; 
  • Tank filling - working and control activities. 

The TDT exam is divided into a theoretical part ( descriptive or test) and a practical part. You will receive the results on the same day. We will help you with all the formalities involved. The validity of the licence is for a period of 5 or 10 years depending on the type of equipment.  

How long are TDT qualifications for maintenance or operation of machinery obtained before 01.06.2019 valid ? 

Filling a tanker truck with flammable gas

According to the law, they are valid until 01.01.2024. If you want to extend your entitlement, you can do so no later than 3 months before this deadline. You have to submit a corresponding application under the conditions described in the regulation of 21 May 2019. 

Licences issued after 01.06.2019 ?  

In this case, things are different, as depending on the equipment, qualifications are issued for 5 or even 10 years - (there is an exact date on the card received after the TDT qualification exam). The procedure for renewing the qualification is the same as in the previous situation.
